Our patent presents a cost-effective microfluidic device that separates platelet-enriched plasma from whole blood. Unlike traditional methods, it uses simple acrylic layers and gravity sedimentation to process 1 mL of blood, yielding 300 µL of plasma with double the platelet concentration. Importantly, it reduces platelet activation by 18.3% compared to centrifugation, preserving platelets in a non-activated state. This makes it an accessible, efficient solution for clinical and therapeutic applications
