Its main objective is to design strategies of adaptation for society and natural systems in response to the climate change scenarios considered for the Basque Country, reducing its negative consequences and increasing the derived opportunities. This project will identify and evaluate the potential impacts derived from climate change on the water resources, coastal and urban environments, and marine, terrestrial and agricultural ecosystems. Knowledge on the systems functions will be improved evaluating the effectiveness of the adaptation measures proposed. Based on the climate change evidences and the impacts derived on the different analyzed systems, adaptation strategies for the natural and human systems will be considered under different scenarios.
