Project summary: Young people in child and adolescent protection systems are largely in situations of vulnerability at the time of transition to adult life, due to the social and emotional disruptions they face at that stage. For this reason, EVOLUTION focuses on three common problems in our cross-border territory: the disruption in the integration path of these young people as a consequence of their condition as vulnerable children and adolescents, the inequality of opportunities to access education and the dangers derived from the use of social networks. Through the collaboration of 7 strategic partners, public and private, from the Atlantic Pyrenees and Gipuzkoa, EVOLUTION aims to: a) Conduct a broad qualitative study of the stories of young people who have graduated from protection services in order to better understand the opportunities and challenges encountered b) Design new itineraries and access routes to post-compulsory, professional and higher education to promote equal educational opportunities c) Provide professionals with practical tools to promote safe and responsible use of social networks by young people d) Develop and implement tailor-made training modules for professionals in order to train them to accompany these young people in their emancipation and social inclusion. The development of these actions in a cross-border dynamic will undoubtedly provide a more complete and accurate view of the experiences of young people and professionals and will allow the implementation of effective support strategies and measures both at the level of public institutions and at the level of educational institutions, with the border not being a limit but an opportunity to improve services for people in vulnerable situations.

The EVOLUTION project has been 65% co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-France-Andorra Programme (POCTEFA 2021-2027). The objective of POCTEFA is to strengthen the economic and social integration of the Spain-France-Andorra border area.
