PARTICIPATING PARTNER ORGANISATIONS FOR SECONDMENTS AND SHORT STAYS
The following list shows the Partner Organisations (PO) that have agreed to form part of the ADAGIO project. Each PO offers specific training opportunities in their field of expertise to the ADAGIO fellows. Specific information can be found within each of the partner descriptions. More information is also available on the POs' websites.
ADAGIO fellows will be strongly encouraged to carry out secondments for a minimum period of 3 months and a maximum period of 12 months in one of the partner organisations listed below, or in another partner organisation suggested by the fellow (and approved by the ADAGIO programme) that can be included at any time during the implementation of their project.
The secondment period can be extended if considered beneficial to the fellow’s research.

ES - Basque Centre for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures (BCM)
BCM (http://www.bcmaterials.net) is an autonomous research center launched in June 2012 by Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), aimed at generating knowledge on new generation materials, and turning this knowledge into the next generation of (multifunctional) solutions and devices for the benefit of society. In this way, materials are developed, evaluated, understood, and implemented for devices like sensors and actuators, critical for the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 paradigms that shape modern technological paradigms, along with materials for advanced manufacturing applications, and materials for medicine, among others. BCMaterials currently has around 95 members and its scientific production in 2021 was more than 150 published articles, from outstanding research in printable materials and devices, materials processing, and characterization in terms of their physicochemical characteristics, including electrical, thermal, magnetic, and mechanical properties.
The current equipment of the center includes a prototyping lab, clean room, laboratory space, equipment to manufacture and characterize the samples, consumables and office space, organic and inorganic chemical synthesis laboratories, manufacture, printed technologies (spray, screen, inkjet printing, and fuse deposition modelling, among others) and processing of metal alloys, spin-coating, sputtering, photolithography, melt spinning, among others. BCM also has a full set of characterization techniques, since it also has access to the Advanced Research Facilities (SGIker) of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), including microscopy (Titan TEM, SEM clubbed with EDX etc), X-ray service (variable temperature powder X-ray diffraction patterns, etc), , XPS, UPS, AFM containing c-AFM and Kelvin probe force microscope, molecular spectrum (Raman, FT-IR) and H NMR.BCM has state-of the art laboratory facilities for the synthesis and characterization of new materials
