Area of expertise Land use and organic matter decomposition. |
Research interests My research project is named "Effects of multiple stressors associated with global change on stream ecosystem functioning". I am studying the impact of different land use types (forest plantations, agriculture and urban areas) on key components of stream ecosystem functioning, namely the process of leaf litter decomposition and the cycling of major nutrients. For that purpose, I combine experimental work in situ (Cantabrian streams) and in the laboratory, using microcosms and artificial streams. |
