Master’s Degree in Feminist and Gender Studies
The scientific contribution from feminist theory and criticism is currently fully inescapable. Contributions, both theoretical-methodological and empirical, directly affect the increase and quality of knowledge and the resolution of social problems related to discrimination and inequality.
This Master is research-based and offers interdisciplinary and specialised training in the field of feminist and gender studies, drawing on the experience and capital of the UPV/EHU in this field.
This Master provides knowledge on the main theoretical contributions and methodological tools for research in the field of feminist anthropology. To this end, the main theories and contributions from feminist and gender studies are looked into, as well as are the reviews and discussions pertaining to them within social and legal sciences.
The knowledge and use of basic methodological tools to perform social research is essential within this training plan, which takes into account the main feminist revisions and criticisms on the matter.
The goal is to generate knowledge and to provide society with knowledge that will enable a better understanding of the economic, political and social problems, both local and international, that prevent equal opportunities for men and women.
The Master includes specialisations in Gender, Inequalities and Social Change, where the situations of inequality established in our daily lives are studied, and Anthropology, Gender and Feminisms, where the anthropological roots of feminist studies are researched.
This Master provides access to the Doctorate Programme in Feminist and Gender Studies.
