University-Trained Expert: Positive treatment and protection of children and adolescents in the academic and socio-educational setting

KEY FACTS ABOUT THE DEGREE PROGRAMME

The objective of this degree programme is to use multidisciplinary methods to provide skills to and raise awareness among professionals of the culture of childhood from the standpoint of equity and innovation in order to promote the protection of boys, girls and adolescents from any type of violence. This represents a professional qualification for the new position introduced by the Law on Juveniles, i.e. Coordinator of Well-Being and Protection, given that this degree programme makes students familiar with the relevant legal framework and enables them to identify preventive interventions.

At the same time, students will be provided with skills to respond to the multidimensional nature of all the risk factors and consequences derived from the different types of violence against children and adolescents.

Attention will also be paid to the actions required to mitigate the impact caused to minors, by developing preventive, follow-up and early risk detection measures, thus enabling students to acquire the skills to confront and prevent all types of violence.

Finally, tools will be provided to develop proposals for improvement and lines of work with aspects related to prevention of violence against minors.
