The European Landscape Convention defines landscape as any part of the territory as perceived by the population, the result of the action and interaction of natural and/or human factors.

Landscape is something multidimensional that encompasses concepts such as heritage, territory or city and it has the need to define and apply policies aimed at its protection and management, for which  people with the capacity to undertake processes related to protection, management and landscape management are needed.

The Master in Landscape Management. Heritage, Territory and City, focuses on training academic and professional researchers who respond to the growing needs related to territoral planning, the sustainability of ecosystems, the rural-urban continuum, culture and the valoriation of heritage, including agricultural and forestry activities, biodiversity, geodiversity or chemistry.

Through the training program, all the theoretical and methodological elements are introduced to carry out diagnoses and prospective studies on the landscape, heritage, territory and the city, considering their different characteristics and their relationship with the environment. 

In this sense, the value of the landscape as a natural, cultural, economic and pedagogical resource is transmitted by working with the most appropriate study and analysis methodologies for the detection, quantification and correction of environmental problems.

In addition, the necessary knowledge to intervene in the conservation of heritage elements is acquired, analyzing their consequences from a multidisciplinary perspective and considering the ethical aspects of preservation.
