Welcome to the Department of Zoology and Animal Cell Biology of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU).

The central office, with the Head and the Secretariat, of our department is located in the Faculty of Science and Technology (building F1, floor -2).

The department is responsible for the academic instruction of the subjects corresponding to the fields of Cell Biology and Zoology in the BScs of Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences. In addition, the general subject Biology in the BScs of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry is part of the teaching offer of the department. The academic activities at bachelor level are carried out at the Faculty of Science and Technology (Campus of Biscay) and at the Faculty of Pharmacy (Campus of Araba).

The department coordinates several master and doctoral programs, including international Erasmus Mundus masters. Part of the postgraduate level activities are developed in the Research Centre for Experimental Marine Biology and Biotechnology “Plentziako Itsas Estazioa” (Plentzia Marine Station; PiE-UPV/EHU).
