The Department of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry is composed of professors and researchers from the areas of knowledge of Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry attached to the Faculty of Science and Technology (Campus of Bizkaia ) and Faculty of Pharmacy (Campus of Álava). The central headquarters of our department are located in the Faculty of Science and Technology, where our administrative secretary is located (CD-2 building, 2nd floor).

Our offer of subjects is mainly focused on the Degree in Chemistry, but we also participate in the Degrees in Biochemistry, Biology, Food Science and Technology, Biothecnology Environmental Sciences, Pharmacy, Physics, Geology, Electronic Engineering and Chemical Engineering.

Regarding postgraduate education we offer two Master Degrees: the Master in New Materials together with the Departments of Physical Chemistry and Electricity and Electronics and the University of Cantabria, and a Master in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry, together with the Public University of Navarra and the University of Valladolid, aimed at training specialists in Chemical Synthesis.

On the other hand two Doctorate programs are offered, the so-called “Materials Science and Technology” and the “Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry”, of recognized national prestige.

As a result of the research on the mentioned areas of knowledge our Department publishes a large number of articles in scientific journals of great relevance. The research projects are supported by public and private funds.
