Entanglement is one of the distinctive features of quantum physics compared to the classical world.
Despite enormous efforts and many amazing results achieved during the past two decades there is still no general theory of entanglement in multipartite systems. My own focus is in the classification and quantification of entanglement in finite-dimensional systems.
Entanglement classification is closely related to the question regarding the general structure of the quantum-mechanical state space. A fascinating tool to investigate this structure as well as any type of quantum correlations is the generalized Bloch representation. It makes many properties of quantum-mechnical states amenable to geometric intuition. Therefore it is one of my objectives to advance this technical framework.
Moreover, my research interests include transport in mesoscopic systems, in particular superconducting nanocircuits, and also circuit QED.
