Title: Heat/Phonon transport in nanostructures and Phononics
Abstract
In the first part, I will focus on several fundamental issues such as
whether heat conduction in nanostructures obeys the Fourier law, how heat pulse spreads in low dimensional nanostuctures, how to reduce thermal conductivity of nanowires and nanotubes. Both computational simulation and experimental results will be presented.
In the second part, I will discuss how to build different thermal devices such as thermal rectifier/diode, thermal transistor, thermal logic gate and thermal memory.
