Biography
Janire Saez Castaño studied chemistry at Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) and completed her Master in Pharmacology in the Department of Analytical Chemistry in 2013. In 2014 she started as a PhD student at CIC microGUNE a Research Centre working in Microtechnology in Spain. From 2015 she is a PhD student in the microfluidics group at the UPV/EHU working in the integration of smart materials into microfluidic devices within the FP7 European Project NAPES.

Research
Her research interest focuses on the integration of thermoresponsive, photoresposvive and biocompatible smart materials as microvalves or membranes in environmentally friendly microfluidic devices.
