- Description:
The aim of this project is to develop a microfluidic device that can be easily integrated into a cup for the continuous monitoring of ketamine hydrochloride in beverages. The detection method relies on a simple, naked-eye colorimetric reaction, Scott's reaction, involving a complexation reaction with cobalt (II) thiocyanate in an acidic medium. A color change to pink indicated a negative result, while a change to bright blue indicated a positive result for KET. Additionally, the project aimed to determine the LOD for the
reaction within the microfluidic device and to demonstrate the capability of the device for the continuous monitoring of KET.
