Biography

Ainara Fernández Cantalapiedra is originally from Bilbao. Currently, she is immersed in the final year of her Chemistry degree at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and is working on her final degree project on the separation of THC and CBD from cannabis.

Research

Her undergraduate research project focuses on the separation of THC and CBD to enable accurate colorimetric detection. The goal is to develop a cost-effective and safe kit capable of identifying THC and CBD concentrations within minutes. This initiative aims to provide a rapid and accessible tool for analysis, with potential applications in quality control and regulatory compliance,

Her wrok is done in collaboration with IBEA research group under the direction of Dr. Nagore Prieto Taboada.
