Graduate and PhD in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, where he has been a professor since 1998.
Postgraduate University Diploma in Music Therapy from the UPV/EHU, student of Music Therapy at the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, and specialist in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (Mid-Atlantic Institute, Maryland, USA/Agruparte, Vitoria-Gasteiz).
He has been Vice Dean of Teaching Planning, Innovation and Students (2017-2019) and Academic Secretary (2016-2017) at the Faculty of Psychology, where he currently teaches bilingually in the Degree in Psychology and in the master’s degree in General Health Psychology. He is part of the faculty of the Doctoral Program in Psychology (UPV/EHU). He also collaborates since 2004-2005 in the Master’s/Specialist in Music Therapy at the Pontifical University of Salamanca.
Member of the Osaklinik Basque Government Research Group: Psychological interventions to improve physical and mental health (2022-2026) and, since 2018, member of the MHI Biodonostia mental health and psychiatric care research group (neuroscience area).
Current research interests: a) evaluation of psychological intervention programs in people with fibromyalgia and non-fibromyalgic chronic pain, b) mindfulness and music therapy in the clinical and health field, and c) health promotion and affirmative psychological interventions in LGBTI+ people.
