Graduate (1987) and PhD (1992) in Biology from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. Predoctoral researcher at INIMEC, Argentina (1988-1992) and postdoctoral researcher at Binghamton University, NY, USA (1993-1995). Since 1996 she has been a researcher and professor in the area of Psychobiology, at the Faculty of Psychology, UPV/EHU.
She has been Director of the Master's and Doctorate School (2013-2017), Head of the Doctorate Program in Psychology (2010-2019), Head of the university master's degree "Psychology: Individual, Group, Organization and Culture" (2010-2013), as well as Vice-dean of Quality and Communication (2018-2019) and Dean of the Faculty of Psychology (2019-2023).
Member of the “Learning, Perception, Attention and Development” group (group A of the Basque university system), of which she was PI (2007-2012) and where she directs the research lines “Pre- and postnatal learning with orosensory stimuli” and “Effects of perinatal exposure to alcohol”. She has participated in 26 funded research projects, being PI in 7 of them. She has supervised 4 doctoral theses, 2 of them international and 2 with an extraordinary thesis award. With 5 six-year periods acknowledged by CNEAI and 4 five-year periods of teaching (Orcid: 0000-0001-9042-1578).
