Competencies
- Apply the acquired knowledge in the design and development of energy audits in buildings, as well as in the evaluation of the results obtained in them, being able to propose improvements to obtain energy savings in buildings, and quantify the effect of proposed energy conservation measures.
- Acquire basic notions for the use of computer tools that allow the assessment of a building energy performance.
- Act as an independent professional expert in the field of smart cities and communities, with the aim of providing social benefits.
- Act as an independent professional expert with the aim of providing social benefits.
- Apply knowledge about the different facilities used in buildings for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
- Apply the acquired knowledge in the evaluation of the results of the energy demand and/or consumption, being able to propose improvements to obtain energy savings in buildings.
- Contribute to the search for innovative solutions.
- Familiarization with existing European and national regulations on energy efficiency in buildings and energy certification.
- Familiarization with existing European strategies on energy efficiency and climate change, as well as the global context where they were or are being developed.
- Familiarization with existing regulations and methodologies for the energy design of heating and cooling systems, knowing their simplifications and limitations.
- Have advance knowledge of the main research actions and programs developed by the European Union, and the main features of the different projects developed in these programs.
- Have advanced knowledge of the different European directives and research actions in relation to their energy context, while considering the long-term strategies of the European Union on Energy efficiency and climate change.
- Have advanced knowledge of the different energy certification procedures, being able to develop energy certification in residential and commercial buildings.
- Have advanced knowledge of the different heat transfer types that influence the energy balance of the building thermal envelope.
- Master basic concepts and applied knowledge (theoretical and methodological) in the field of energy, mobility, town planning and ICT.
- Mobilise expertise in science, applied science, planning and urban management to respond with experience and adaptability to the challenges of technology and societal transition in the field of smart cities and communities.
