Andoni Choya is a postdoctoral researcher in the TQSA (Chemical Technologies for Environmental Sustainability) research group from the Chemical Engineering department of the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU.
He graduated as Chemical Engineer from the School of Engineering of Bilbao in 2014, carrying out his end of career project under a Erasmus stay in Cranfield University (Bedfordshire, UK), where he studied the MSc in Environmental Engineering. In 2016 he started his PhD studies in the Faculty of Science and Technology thanks to a predoctoral scholarship awarded by the Vice Chancellor’s Office for Research from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. His PhD thesis focused on the development of catalysts based on spinel type cobalt oxide (Co3O4) for the low temperature elimination of residual methane from the exhaust of Compressed Natural Gas engines. In January 2021 he defended his thesis and was awarded with an International PhD, with a Cum Laude remark.
His current research focuses on the developent of structured nickel catalysts supported over ceramic open cell foams for the dry reforming of methane.
