I am qualified Speech and Language Therapist by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Linguist by the University of Barcelona (UB). In 2011, I was awarded an Erasmus Mundus scholarship to the European Master in Clinical Linguistics (EMCL), which I completed at the University of Potsdam (DE) and University of Groningen (NL). I trained in research methods related to language processing on aphasia, developmental language disorders, dyslexia, and alexia, as well as in neuroimaging and eye-tracking techniques. In 2013, I was awarded with a grand of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA; European Union) to conduct my PhD in the International Doctorate in Experimental Approaches into Brain and Language (IDEALAB) (Erasmus Mundus label of excellence). I researched on sentence comprehension deficits, error awareness and bilingualism on aphasia. I was trained in data modelling and statistics, as well as in academic writing. The results of this research were the core of my Ph.D thesis entitled ‘Sentence comprehension in monolingual and bilingual aphasia: Evidence from behavioral and eye-tracking methods’ (2017).

Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Bilingual Mind group of the University of the Basque Country. I investigate mechanisms of lexical access and language switching in Basque-Spanish bilingual speakers with anomia (i.e. word retrieval problems) and non-brain-damaged speakers, across the life span.
