She obtained the Degree of Doctor Cum Laude in Industrial Chemistry in 2002 from the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU). She has held several positions as a Lecturer at UPV / EHU. Her research activity deals, on the one hand, with the development of ion exchange technologies for the recovery of heavy metals in hydrometallurgy as well as the production of struvite by ion exchange under supersaturation conditions. She has directed a research project within her research group, qualified as consolidated by the Basque University System. She works on the proposal of multidisciplinary actions through coordinated projects for the elimination of emerging pollutants in the water environment. She is the author of several articles published in prestigious international journals, and several communications and papers at congresses in the field of ion exchange and environment. As an instructor of young researchers, she has been tutor and director of three doctoral theses defended. Since 2015, she is the Vicedean of Communication and Social Projection of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
