During the month of March various researchers from different centers have visited the facilities of SCAB (Central Analysis Service of Bizkaia) in the SGIker. The first of these visits corresponded to two students from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador Esmeraldas headquarters (PUCESE). The students were able to see in situ some of the analysis of its project on the environmental impact of gold mining on river systems in northern Ecuador in which they are working. This project is part of the project of university development cooperation (CUD 2013-2014) in which one of the technicians of the SGIker is involved.

In addition, two researchers of the pharmaceutical company FAES FARMA and three researchers from the Institute of the UPV/EHU POLYMAT, visited the facilities of liquid chromatography and gas in the SCAB respectively. Accessed instrumentation (LC / MS and Py-GC / MS) and technical experience in the pharmaceutical field and technology of polymers, can be useful for possible future work to develop within this SGIker unit.
