Under the BIOCELL Projects (Application of biotechnology techniques in the process of functionalization of cellulosic textile substrates for use in the cosmetic and health sector) and AGROBIOTEX (Application of biotechnology and microencapsulation techniques for the functionalization of agrotextiles), both co financed by IVACE and the FEDER funds in 2014 and 2015 respectively, the Biotechnology Research Group AITEX has had the cooperation of SCAB.

The support given so far by the SCAB has been related to the tuning method for qualitative and quantitative analysis of different functional microencapsulated compounds in order to determine the effectiveness of the process of microencapsulation as well as the controlled release of the compound in time, before its incorporation to the textiles, in order to develop advanced and functional textiles for various applications.

The collaboration between SCAB and AITEX under these projects has given innovative results, the proof is that part of the work done has been published in a scientific journal within the specific field of microencapsulation, titled Journal of Encapsulation and Adsorption Sciences.
