SGIker gives a workshop to initiate in the research activity to the students of the Doctorate School of the UPV/EHU (2017/02/16)
First publication date: 16/02/2017
The Scientometrics Unit of the General Research Services (SGIker) of the UPV / EHU has given a workshop to initiate research activity to 24 people enrolled in the 2016-17 academic year at the UPV/EHU Doctoral School. Days 6th and 13rd of February of 2017, in the School of Engineering of Bilbao.
The students were composed of 16 women and 8 men, mainly from fields 4 of Social and Legal Sciences (40%) and field 5 of Arts and Humanities (24%), as well as field 2 of Architecture and Engineering (20 %), Field 1 of Sciences (8%) and field 3 of Health Sciences (8%).
During the two sessions in the morning, the two technicians of SGIker's Scientometrics Unit, Dr. María José Rodríguez Tojo and Fátima Pastor Ruiz, explained the different stages of the research career and the resources for research which offers the UPV/EHU, in addition to the evaluation criteria and agencies and the different forms of scientific communication.
From an eminently practical point of view, special emphasis has been placed on the need to formulate a strategy for the development of their research career that includes the publication of articles in impact journals. Articles that on the other hand have to be signed according to the recommendations and regulations of the UPV/EHU, and to which they have to seek maximum dissemination through the generation of their own scientific profiles on the various platforms that exist on the network today.
These workshops respond to the line of action developed by the SGIker of the UPV/EHU since 2011, to provide support courses for the research staff which has little experience, and in this case, they are part of the transversal training activities offered through The Doctorate School in its second year of edition.
