(2024/12/04) The UPV/EHU General Research Services obtain co-financing from FEDER funds for the acquisition of six scientific-technological equipment

First publication date: 04/12/2024

The General Research Services (SGIker) have obtained European Rural Development Funds (FEDER) to contribute to the financing of six new high-tech equipment that will place the UPV/EHU at the forefront of research in the university field.

Among the equipment financed is the high-resolution, temperature-controlled Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) device, which will be installed in the Macrobehaviour-Mesostructure-Nanotechnology Service on the Gipuzkoa Campus.

Although AFM is frequently used to view small-scale structures, it is also used to measure electrical and mechanical properties. It is also suitable for use in electrical conductors and insulators, transparent and opaque, soft and rigid, among others.

With regard to the Leioa Campus, among the infrastructures co-financed by the ERDF, there are the following equipment: Orbitrap Astral VF, Laser 20FS, Quantum Computer Emulator, Mass Spectrometer and Nano-Macro Imaging Platform.
