Graduated in Biochemistry (2004) and PhD (2009) in Exercise Physiology in the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where she has been a lecture since 2008. She is currently an associate professor of trilingual teaching in the field of cellular metabolism and nutrition.
He coordinates the new research group Nursing and Health Promotion, where the main objective is to analyze environmental factors that influence the lifestyle of the community and its care to improve their health. This group has concluded the study Photovoice-Bilbao (www.myhealthyhood.com) with high social impact. She is also a member of the educational research group BaNER, dedicated to finding and implementing new active teaching tools in order to improve the academic and competence performance of university students.
She is co-author of 8 international and 1 national scientific articles. She has collaborated in the publication of 2 teaching publications and 6 book chapters and about 41 contributions in national and international congresses. She has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Stirling (UK), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the University of Alcalá. She has participated in 15 research projects at the local, regional and state level, being the main researcher in one of them. Her lines of research are focused on sports nutritional assessment, the influence of physical activity and diet on population obesity in different environments and university teaching innovation.
