Unai Ortega holds a degree and PhD in Biological Sciences from the UPV/EHU. He is a lecturer in the Department of Didactics of Mathematics, Experimental and Social Sciences of the UPV/EHU in the Faculty of Education in Bilbao, where he carries out his teaching and research work in the area of didactics of experimental sciences. He has worked in quality control of forest plants at the UPV/EHU and in the forestry section of SERIDA of Asturias, modelling nutritional management and controlled mycorrhization in nurseries and the ecophysiological response in the establishment of reforestations. He is currently researching on the continuous improvement of Science and Ecosocial Education, both in formal and non-formal education. He is a member of the IkasGaraia research group, participating in different national and international research projects, as well as in educational innovation projects.
