Jorge Virto Moreno is an Associate Professor in the Department of Quantitative Methods at the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU), where he teaches Econometrics and Statistics and Data Analysis.
His main research publications include contributions to the analysis of the business cycle, the study of the effectiveness of different treatments in renal transplant patients, the measurement of the value of the ocean in natural resource economics, non-parametric estimation with censored data, and the characterization of tourism in the EU. He has also worked as a researcher on the Interreg Atlantic Area (ERDF) Moses project and the Marnet project, an EU transnational network that aims to collect comparable data to support maritime socio-economic development initiatives in the European Atlantic Area.
