Julen Agirre Egibar (Azpeitia, 1984) is an artist, teacher and researcher. He finished his PhD in 2017 and he is professor in the Department of Drawing of the UPV/EHU. His research focuses on the concerns of today´s contemporary art, and this tour goes through different disciplines. Mainly, his artistic practice develops it starting from the drawing but then also close to other disciplines. Member of the laSIA research group. In recent years both participated in collective and individual exhibitions. Besides de Basque Country, he has shown his work in Barcelona, Bologna (Italy) and San Diego (USA). He received several scholarships and awards, such as the scholarship of art stay at Center for Basque Studies of the University of Reno, or the prize in the Euskal Zine Bilera among others.
