Pilar Soberón García is a professor in the Sculpture Department of the Fine Arts Faculty at the University of the Basque Country (EHU-UPV). Is graduated in Fine Arts, specialising in Sculpture and Visual Art, and has a PhD, awarded cum laude, from the University of the Basque Country for her doctoral thesis In-fluido [In-Flow] (2016).

Pilar took first prize for New Artists of Gipuzkoa in 1995 and was selected in the XXXVI Fotografía ABC, in ARCO’03. She has taken part in international fairs such as MIA Milan Image Art Fair and ArteSantander. In 2014, she was selected to perform an intervention in the public space for Wiesbaden Kunstsommer Festival (Germany) with Aeolia’s Park and she has produced ephemeral installations for Meta-illusioni international exhibition in Naples. As a finalist in Photíssima ArtPrize Venize 2015, she exhibited at Venice, simultaneously to the La Biennale di Venecia 2015. Meanwhile, Aeolia´s Park has been opened in Kurk Park, in Wiesbaden.

In Murgilketak. Viajes de Jung Pilar de-constructed an ancestral hut in the Ganbara Room, in the Koldo Mitxelena. In 2018, she presented the installation of bronze sculptures at the Vanguardia gallery, Bilbao. In 2019, she presented at the Aquarium museum of San Sebastian Uraldia, which reflects on the state of our ecosystem. Currently, she has exposed Hodei putzua at the Menchu Gal exhibition hall, Irun.
