Amaia Alvarez-Uria obtained her PhD at the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV) and nowadays lectures at the Faculty of Education and Sports (EHU/UPV), in the department of Didactics of Language and Literature. Her research is focused on two research topics: literature and gender, (which main reference is her dissertation entitled Nation and Gender Identities in Katalina EleizegiŽŽŽs Theatre Plays, 2011), and Critical Discourse Analysis (present in publications, given teacher training courses, and being a visiting scholar in Brazil, 2013). She is also a member of the research work team IKHEZI and has participated in several projects related to Education, Culture and Gender with them. Among her publications there are articles, chapters and books related to the above mentioned research topics. She has participated in international conferences, and has reviewed articles for Tantak and Uztaro. Currently, she is directing a dissertation on female artistŽs contribution to the oral improvisation.
