I obtained my Chemistry Degree in 1998, at the UPV/EHU, after staying two years at Utrecht
University as Erasmus Student. Later on, in 2002, I got my PhD degree in Chemistry at the UPV/EHU, obtaining the Extraordinary Prize of Doctorate, under the supervision of Prof. Jesus M. Ugalde. During this period, I spent three months in the Cavendish Laboratory, at the University of Cambridge. Afterwards, I moved to Sweden, to the University of Örebro, to carry out a 2-year postdoc. In 2009 I got a Ramón y Cajal Fellowship, and moved back to the UPV/EHU, where I am a Permanent Researcher since 2016.
I have been teaching in the field of Physical Chemistry since 2010, participating in four different subjects. Nowadays I teach in the subjects of Physical Chemistry I and Physical Chemistry II, in the 2nd and 3rd Grade years respectively, at the Chemistry Faculty. Additionally, I have supervised a total of 21 Final Grade Works, 8 Master Thesis and 3 PhD Thesis. My research fields are within theoretical and computational chemistry, collaborating with either theoreticians and experimentalists. Concretely, my research lines are focused on the development of advanced materials and organometallic catalysis. In total, I have published over 100 research papers.
In addition to these activities, I am also involved in the social dissemination of Science, collaborating in radio programs and events organized by several local organizations
