Description and Contextualization of the SubjectToggle Navigation

Elective course oriented to specialists in Environmental Engineering, in order to give them a strong grasp on how to measure and control noise and vibration problems. The course has a practical focus and is lectured by specialists of the Department of Mechanical Engineering with a deep industrial experience in the field.

Knowing more deeply part of science, technologies, tools and techniques in the field of environmental engineering, which are the major or deepening line in noise and vibration control.

Lesson 1 NOISE PARAMETERS. EMISSION AND IMMISSION. SCALES. HUMAN RESPONSE TO NOISE. PHYSIOLOGICAL EFFECTS. FREQUENCY BANDS, OCTAVES AND 1/3-OCTAVES. FREQUENCY WEIGHTING. LIMITS

Lesson 2 NOISE AND VIBRATION SOURCES. NOISE GENERATION MECHANISMS. PROPAGATION: POINT SOURCES AND LINEAR SOURCES. TRANSMISSION LOSS. NOISE ABSORPTION. NOISE DIFFRACTION AND NOISE BARRIERS CALCULATION.
