Civil engineer (2003) by the University of Cantabria and doctor (2008) by the University of Castilla la Mancha, where she obtained the prize to the best doctoral thesis and where she worked for 10 years in the area of Urbanism and Territorial Planning in the School of Civil Engineering in Ciudad Real, teaching and carrying out research related to the analysis of public works in the territory, the design of public space, and urban planning.

Since 2015 she works at the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in the area of Hydraulic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Gipuzkoa in San Sebastian, where she teaches and researches on topics related to hydraulics and fluid mechanics. She is Deputy Director of International Relations since 2017.

She is co-author of 17 research articles, 4 book chapters, 2 educational publications and 26 contributions in national and international congresses and has participated in 9 research projects and 13 agreements with companies and/or public administrations. She has a six-year term recognized by the CNEAI. Her current lines of research focus on the efficient management of water distribution and sanitation systems, and sustainable urban drainage systems.
