Once the student knows the concepts and fundamentals of the discipline, has understood the basic accounting model, is able to interpret and represent economic events and has mastered the recording techniques, objectives of the course Introduction to Accounting, he/she is ready to delve deeper into the principles that govern the accounting model and how it captures more complex operations.

MethodologyToggle Navigation

Traditional teaching methodologies will be used in class. There will be two practical tests during the term, which will add up to two maximum possible points, as well as the completion of certain exercises set by the teacher during the term, wich will be valued at a total of one point.

Assessment systemsToggle Navigation

  • Continuous Assessment System
  • Final Assessment System
  • Tools and qualification percentages:
    • Written test to be taken (%): 70
    • Realization of Practical Work (exercises, cases or problems) (%): 30

Ordinary Call: Orientations and DisclaimerToggle Navigation

During the course, there will be, on the one hand, two partial tests valued at one point each one and, on the other hand, several exercises proposed by the teacher in class valued in its totality in one point, apart from the final exam that will be done on the date indicated by the centre, up to 7 points. In order to pass the course, it will be sufficient to obtain at least a final mark of 5 out of 10. The marks obtained in the tests and group exercises will only be added to the final exam mark if a minimum mark of 3 points is obtained in the final exam.

The student can decide within the first nine weeks of the four-month course, if he/she chooses to follow the system as indicated in the previous section, where three different tests are carried out during the course, or if he/she chooses to participate directly in the final exam with a maximum evaluation of 10 possible points. Only in the case of opting for the second option described, the student must inform the teacher responsible for the subject in writing within the period indicated for this purpose (9 weeks).

Extraordinary Call: Orientations and DisclaimerToggle Navigation

Students will be offered two alternatives to choose from in order to pass the subject:

- Alternative A: One exam out of 7, which added to the points obtained during the course, would reach the 10 maximum possible points. In this alternative, only students who took this route in the ordinary exam will be able to opt for this option.

- Alternative B: A single exam out of 10 points.

As in the ordinary exam, a minimum of five points is required to pass the course.
