Description and Contextualization of the SubjectToggle Navigation
The basic objective of the Final Year Project (FYP) is that students demonstrate their maturity when it comes to tackling their own subject, theoretical or practical, of the degree in an autonomous way and to reinforce those competencies that enable them to practice professionally.
Skills/Learning outcomes of the subjectToggle Navigation
The FYP must be oriented to the application of the general competences associated with the degree, to train for the search, management, organization, and interpretation of relevant data, normally from its area of study, to make judgments that include a reflection on relevant topics of Scientific and/or technological nature, and that facilitates the development of critical, logical, and creative thinking and judgment. The training activities may be of a broad nature and will be aimed at the development and application of the skills acquired throughout the Bachelor's degree.
The FYP must be oriented to the application of the following competences associated with the degree:
- To synthesize the skills acquired in the degree through the development and the defense of a project.
- To directly conceive and develop the proposal for the implementation, on an industrial scale or with prior scaling, of an installation or process justified by its innovative nature, or the study of a stage of interest due to its innovative nature.
- To establish the justification of the economic viability and environmental impact of a project.
- To write and direct the aimed activities of the project and the final proposal under the consideration of the different specifications, regulations, and mandatory standards.
- To use information technologies applied to learning.
- To communicate knowledge and results orally and in writing.
- To have skills in interpersonal relationships with recognition of diversity and multiculturalism.
- To adapt to teamworks with critical reasoning and constructive spirit.
- To incorporate quality criteria, sensitivity to the environment, sustainability and ethical criteria into the learning work.
- To relate the FYP to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

MethodologyToggle Navigation
The FYP shall comprise the following activities:
1) Individualized tutorials. There will be a minimum of 3 tutorials agreed between the director and the student.
2) Autonomous work of the student guided by his/her director in the phases of development, delivery, exposure and defense of the FYP.
3) Seminars. Attendance at the following seminars organized by the FCT-ZTF will be mandatory:
- Búsquedas bibliográficas con los recursos de la UPV/EHU (Bibliographical research with resources from UPV/EHU)
- Redacción de la memoria del Trabajo Fin de Grado (Final Year Project’s writing)
- Exposición del Trabajo Fin de Grado (Final Year Project's presentation)
