Degree in English Philology (1995) and German Philology (1996) and PhD in Modern Philology (2002) at the University of Salamanca. She was awarded the Extraordinary Prize of Bachelor's and PhD, both by the University of Salamanca. Associate Professor, teaching at the University of the Basque Country since 1998 in the Department of English and German Philology and Translation. Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of the Basque Country from 2007-2011. Since 2017 she is teaching in the Master's program Comparative Literature and Literary Studies and Director of Promotion of the Basque Language at the Basque Institute Etxepare.



Research areas: German literature after Reunification, identity and memory, body and power in the work of Herta Müller and current German narrative, the presence of the rogue in 20th century literature. Today, in the MINECO research project Historical memories answered: censorship, transmission and institutionalisation in Iberian and European culture (1975-2015), previously researching for 5 research projects. Author of a book, 22 chapters and 10 articles. Research stays at Freie and Humboldt Universities in Berlin, at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Osnabrück and Leipzig.
