F. Javier Maseda Rego is a Technical Industrial Engineer, Electronics Engineer and a Doctor in Engineering. He is part of the Systems Engineering and Automation Department in the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao as a full time teacher, having reached the category of Associate Professor in 2008.

In the last few years he has been part of the teams of the following courses: ``Power ElectronicsŽŽ and ``Digital Control Systems ŽŽ, both of them from the Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automatics Engineering. He has also served as guide in multiple Final Master Projects and Final Bachelors' Degree Projects. He teaches the subject of Modeling and Control of Electrical Machines of the Master in Control Engineering, Automation and Robotics.

The areas of interest in which he works nowadays are Virtual and Remote Laboratories applied to Superior Education and Education in Engineering, collaborating with teachers from areas such as Renewable Energies and Control of Electric Machines.
