Dr. Gorka Roman is Professor at the University of the Basque Country. He holds an International Doctorate with honorable mention in Political Science and is currently finishing another Ph.D. in Psychodidactics. He has Bachelor’s Degrees in Social and Cultural Anthropology, English Studies, and Basque Studies, and Master’s Degrees in Visual Anthropology, Politics, and Conflict Resolution, Migrations and Social Cohesion. His expertise includes Language Didactics, AI and ICT in education, inclusive education, identity formation, discourse analysis and the processes of inclusion through formal and non-formal education with migrants and refugees in Europe. He is conducting research in different international research groups, Erasmus+ and others, working in fields related to languages, migrations and educational and sociocultural inclusion. He has long experience training primary and secondary school teachers in the use of new technologies in education. He is member of the consolidated research group ELEBILAB, granted by the Basque Government to carry out research on language teaching and research. He is also Principal Investigator in seven different Erasmus+ projects working on topics related to language teaching, inclusive education, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Artificial intelligence in education and ICT education with SEN students.
