Bachelor’s degree (1995) and PhD (2002) in Food Science and Technology by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Professor in the Nutrition and Bromatology Area (Faculty of Pharmacy) since 2007. She is member of the ZEHARGAITUZ group, accredited as an IKD structured teaching team of the UPV/EHU.

She belongs to LACTIKER research group (Quality and Safety of foods of animal origin) where she has developed research activity in the characterization of cheese and rennet; determination of isomers of liposoluble vitamins in milk, cheese and animal feed; and technological factors for the improvement of cheese yield.

Since 2008, she has collaborated with the research group of the Gluten Analysis Laboratory of the UPV/EHU, being responsible for the quality of the Laboratory, accredited by ENAC (nº 774/1626).

As a result of her research activity, she is co-author of scientific publications, books and book chapters. She has also participated in research projects, transfer contracts through the OTRI, and national and international scientific congresses.

Outside the University, she has worked in sanitary and hygiene advice to food industries, and in the implementation of food safety systems (2001-2005). Since 2011, she has worked as a technical auditor in collaboration with the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) to develop audits under the UNE-EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard in laboratories of food analysis.
