PhD (2002) and Graduated (1994) in Food Science & Technology by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She is a member of Texture Analysis - LaTEX research group, which works with rheological parameters related to viscosity and its behavior associated with organoleptic characteristics to improve the treatment of dysphagia in the field of thickeners, etc.

In January 2018, she hold an associate professor position in order to be able to combine this docent labor in the Faculty of Pharmacy with the part-time technical administration of the Association of Food Science & Technology of Basque Country (ACTAE). She is also Chairwomain of the Federation of Associations of Food Science and Technology (FEDALCYTA) since 2016.

Previously, she was a Technical Investigation in the Centro Tecnológico de la Industria Cárnica in La Rioja (now CTIC-CITA) or a position of Public Healthcare Technician in the Guernica-Lea Region for the Health department of the Basque Government. From April 2013 to December 2015 she was member of the SREF “Manufacturing of food, beverages and tobacco” of ESCO-European Commission which is defining the competences, skills and occupations of the European agri-food sector. Likewise, in April 2015, she was invited by ANECA to the 09 Science sub-commission.
