Graduate (1980) and PhD (1990) in Sciences (Geology) from the UPV/EHU, where he has been a professor since 1986. He is co-author of 88 scientific articles, 26 books and 26 book chapters and 48 contributions to national and international conferences. . He has 2 six-year terms recognized by the CNEAI. His lines of research focus on geological cartography (Pyrenees, Ossa-Morena Zone, Equatorial Guinea and NW Mexico), on monumental construction materials and systems, and on its dissemination.
