Bachelor Degree in Translation and Interpreting by Universidade de Vigo (2006), Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation by Università degli studi di Parma, she is currently a PhD student within the programme Doctorate in Communication of her former university. Her research focuses on Subtitling for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.

Between 2009–2016, Iravedra worked as a freelance translator and Interpreter especially within the audiovisual sector even if she has also done translation and proofreading works within the scientific, economic and literary fields. Besides, she has been appointed as Sworn Translation and Interpreter of English/Spanish and English/Galician by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Galician Regional Government (Xunta de Galicia), respectively.

Iravedra started her teaching career at Universidade de Vigo, first within the Translation and Interpreting degree and later on for the Master’s Degree in Multimedia Translation. Still taking part in the latter, she is currently a full-time lecturer at Universidad del País Vasco UPV/EHU.
