Dr. Iván Manuel Vicente have worked as a Researcher since 2005, firstly as a predoctoral and then as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Pharmacology in the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Now he has as Assistant Professor position since 2018. The study of the neurochemistry of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been its main scientific interest since its inception in research in the group of Neurochemistry and Neurodegeneration, currently recognized as a group of the Basque University System by the Basque Government. His work has focused on the analysis of different neurotransmission systems both in patients with AD and in animal models of the disease. Concretely, his research has been based on the study of cholinergic neurotransmission and its relationship with neurotransmission systems as potential

therapeutic targets for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. These neurotransmission systems can be grouped into neuropeptides such as galanin, and neurolipidics such as cannabinoid or lysophosphatidic acid. As a result of research in this area, he has participated in 21 papers in international scientific journals and in five book chapters (H index=11).He also has experience in the supervision of predoctoral students, havingdirected two Doctoral Thesis. Moreover, he participates in the direction of projects for theobtaining of the Master's degree in Pharmacology and Final Degree Projects of the Degreein Biochemistry and Pharmacy degrees
