Bachelor (2000) and Doctor (2008) in Law from the UPV / EHU. Basque Government pre-doctoral scholarship (2001-2004). Since 2005 lecturer at the UPV / EHU. Currently, he is an associate professor of Public International Law at the UPV / EHU. He teaches in undergraduate degrees the subjects "Public International Law I and II" and "European Union Law", as well as in Postgraduate Programs: “Master's Degree in International Studies”, “Master in Law and Legal Practice, and Master's Degree in International Trade Law (UPV / EHU and UNED). Teaching activity (period 2010-2016) evaluated in DOCENTIAZ program and recognized with the Diploma of Excellence.
Author of a monograph and co-author of another. Author of 26 doctrinal articles and 6 book chapters. Co-author during 2006-2015 of two annual reports on "arbitration". Main line of research: the legal regulation of foreign investments, their protection in international law and the methods of settlement of differences between States and foreign investors. Other research topics: International Law of Human Rights or European Union Law in the field of the Law of the Sea. 3 “sexenio” recognized by the CNEAI.
He has participated in 10 research projects and contracts and he is a member of a Consolidated Research Group of the Basque Government since 2010.
