Begoña Ferrero Martín, received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, in 2004. She is currently a permanent collaborating professor in the Computer Languages and Systems Department at the same university, where she teaches undergraduate courses in subjects related to the areas of Programming and Software Engineering.

In the mid-90s she joined the GaLan research group (https://galan.ehu.eus) in which she has developed her research work in the multidisciplinary area of Educational Computing. Within this area he has worked on aspects related to the diagnosis and assessment of procedural knowledge, its acquisition and modeling, and the integration of virtual reality (VR) or mixed reality (MR) tools in learning systems as a useful and affordable alternative to make the interaction with students more realistic. Expanding the application of assessment techniques to non-procedural domains, has investigated the definition of rubrics and recommendation systems as tools to promote learning.

Since 2017 he has been a member of the Adian consolidated research group (Basque Government) and works on teaching computational thinking and computer science in pre-university education. She is also a member of the ITForja teaching team recognized as a structured team by the UPV/EHU.
