Dr. Architect Jose Miguel Rico-Martinez studied in the University of the Basque Country, where he presented in 2015 his PhD about daylight performance of expanded metal.



Teaching in the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the University of the Basque Country (Architecture Department) from 2003. Nowadays he teaches the following subjects of the Architecture Degree: Structures IV (Geotechnics and foundations) and New Ways of Building.



He has contributed in several conferences, books, journals and postgraduate programs of the University of the Basque Country as the Light Facade Master, Sustainable Construction Master, Timber Structures, Construction and Design Master and Gastronomic Spaces Design Master.



Member of the Scientific committees of several Masters, the International Congress on Architectural Envelopes by Tecnalia, the Journal of Façade Design and Engineering (JFDE) and the EFN European Facade Network (www.facades.ning.com).



Co-founder of M-etxea Arkitekturaren Ikerketa Elkartea, a nonprofit association dedicated to action-research about the use of collective spaces from 2010.



Author of several architecture projects in residential, commercial, industrial and office buildings from 2004.
