I completed my BA + MA (1999) and PhD (2006) in History at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
My research and publications centres on contemporary history of the Basque Country, history of education, cultural history and heritage education. Currently I am working on this last area as a member of the Research Group on Heritage, Medieval Archaeolgy and Cultural Landscapes (Grupo de Investigación en Arqueología Medieval, Patrimonialización y Paisajes Culturales / Erdi Aroko Arkeologia, Ondaregintza eta Kultur Paisaiak Ikerketa Taldea).
My work experience is related to the teaching of history and social studies. Before joining the university I taught history and geography in several High Schools. Since 2015 I am an assistant professor in the Department of Social Studies Didactics in the Faculty of Education of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
