En la asignatura de Crecimiento Económico se estudiará la base teórica básica para analizar los datos y entender los factores que explican tanto las diferencias en las rentas per cápita entre países, como las diferencias en sus tasas de crecimiento.

After taking this course you will be able to:
1. compare income per capita between countries correctly
2. understand and test the empirical predictions of the neoclassical growth theory
3. identify the factors explaining differences in income per capita levels and growth rates between countries.
4. understand the role governments play in countries economic growth.
5. understand the effects of cultural, geographical and environmental factors on growth.
6. understand the consequences of growth on income distribution and the environment.

The final grade will be a weighted average of the final exam which will be on-site unless circumstances require otherwise and a set of exercises and homeworks. Those who do not hand in the exercises and homeworks during the course, can do so during the week after the final exam. Those who did the exercises and homeworks during the course and want to get a higher grade can also hand in a revised version of their exercises and/or homeworks during that period.
