PURPOSE: Managing the Buddy programme, which consists of providing or receiving support in order to facilitate the integration of visiting students into social life in the Basque Country, as well as into academic life at the University of the Basque Country. The students at the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing of the Donostia Section will provide this support (Buddies).

HOW LONG YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE KEPT FOR: Personal information will be stored until elimination is requested by the person concerned and, in any case, as long as the redress and/or claims periods are still open or while such information continues to respond to the aim for which it was obtained.

LEGITIMISATION: The consent of the persons concerned.

WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH? Data will not be disclosed unless there is a legal requirement to do so, nor will international transfers be made.

WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION DO WE PROCESS?
- Identification and contact details: National ID document / Tax number, name, surname, address (postal or electronic), and telephone number. Signature/ Fingerprint
- Personal details: Nationality, mother tongue
- Social situation data: Hobbies, lifestyle
- Academic and professional details: Knowledge of foreign languages:

RIGHTS: What are your rights?

Any person has the right to obtain confirmation concerning whether we are processing or not his/her personal data at UPV/EHU.

Interested persons have the right to access their personal information and to request the rectification of any inaccurate information, or, if they wish, to request deletion when, among other reasons, such information is no longer required for the purposes intended when it was collected.

In certain circumstances, interested parties may request that the data processing be limited, in which case we shall only store the information required to initiate or defend any potential claims.

In addition, in certain circumstances and for reasons related to their particular situation, interested parties may object to the processing of their information.

The UPV/EHU shall cease to process such information, except for legitimate mandatory reasons, or in order to initiate or defend any potential claims.
